Hooksetters Fishing Club Po Boys Tournament Series

Limited Liability Wavier

All fishing tournaments expose participants to the risk of injury from: falls from docks, electrocution, accidents while unloading and loading boat, boat collisions with other boats or objects such as docks or buoys, capsizing due to inclement weather conditions or wakes from other boats, falling overboard, lighting and severe weather, exposure to elements, dehydration, fishhooks lodged in eye or other body parts, and various other perils not mention above.

I understand the inherent risks involved in recreation fishing competitions and by my signature, I hereby RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE, and HOLD HARMLESS Hooksetters Fishing Club and respective directors, officers, employees, and volunteers from all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury including death that may be sustained by my person or my property belonging to me before, while and after participating in the Po Boy’s Tournament.  

In signing this release, I ACKNOWLEDGE AND REPRESENT THAT I, have read the foregoing rules and wavier of liability and hold harmless agreement, understand that it and statements or inducements, apart from the foregoing written agreement, have been made; I am fully competent and I execute this release for full, adequate, and complete consideration fulling intending to be bound by same.

2024 Hooksetters Fishing Club Po’ Boys Tournament Series 

Hooksetters Fishing Club and its directors reserve the right to interpretation and enforcement of all said rules. Any decision made by said directions will be final.

·  Hooksetter’s fishing club and it’s directors reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone. 

·  A $25 membership fee is required for all participants (covers full tournament series).

· You can fish as a team or individual angler. 

· Teams or individuals must fish 6 events to qualify for end of season 2 day championship. 

· Angler’s meeting any of the following criteria will be disqualified from fishing the Hooksetters Po Boy tournament series

a.  Anglers who have guided for a fee on Lake Norman in the last 12 months.

b.  Anglers who have competed in two (2) or more individual tournaments with an entry fee of $1,500.00 or greater in the last 12 months.

· Tournament series open to anglers 16 years of age and older. Participants 15 years or younger must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian or provide written parental consent prior to the start of the event. 

· All participants are required to sign Limited Liability Waiver to be eligible for tournaments, prior to 1st event fished. 

NEW THIS YEAR

· Weekly tournament entry fee $50 per boat includes $10 big fish.

· 2 day championship entry fee per boat $150 covers both days, includes $20 big fish. 

· Regular season championship points; 1st place 100, 2nd place 99, 3rd place 98, etc. 

· Payout structure; 1st place $1000, 2nd place $500, 3rdplace $250. 4th place-Free 2 days championship entry (MUST FISH 6 EVENTS)

POINTS CHAMPIONSHIP ELIGIBILITY

· 1. You must fish with the same partner the entire season

· 2. Must fish solo the entire season 

· 3. IF YOU ARE A TEAM AND YOUR PARNTER CAN’T FISH YOU MUST FISH ALONE ( NO SUB’S ALLOWED) to remain points championship eligible.

· 4. TEAMS WILL BE DECLARED AT FIRST EVENT FISHED

2 DAY CHAMPIONSHIP ELIGIBILITY 

· 1. MUST FISH 6 OUT OF 10 REGULAR SEASE EVENTS

· 2. MUST FISH AT LEAST 6 REGULAR SEASON EVENTS AS A TEAM TO BE ELIGIBLE TO FISH TOGETHER IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP.

BIG FISH

· Big fish is tie breaker at all events

· No dead fish will be weighed for big fish.

· Big fish MUST be declared by anglers at scale’s (cull tag big fish before coming to scales).

BOAT BUOY’S

· BOAT# BUOY MUST BE TURNED IN AT TIME FISH ARE BROUGH TO SCALES. FISH WILL NOT BE WEIGHT WITH OUT # BUOY. 

· Maximum 2 anglers per boat. 

· Life vest must be worn at blast off and while boat is on plane.

· All boats must have a working live well

· All boats must go through live well check prior to launch. Boat will be provided with live well check marking

· No out of boat except in case of an emergency or act of nature.

· 5 fish limit. 3 at 14 inches and 2 at any size. Large mouth, small mouth, and spotted bass only.

·  All boats bringing fish to weigh in must be caught by the participants on said boat and only on    Lake Norman waters during said fishing tournament hours. 

· Any area not accessible by boat is off limits. This includes cables and NO boat areas, fishing over skimmer wall and dam areas.

· 8 oz. per dead fish deduction. NO dead fish will be eligible for big fish.   

· NO use of live, cut bait or chumming.

· All fish must be caught on artificial lure, in the mouth no snagging.

· Must cull at 6th fish (no more than 5 fish in live well at any given time).

· Only one (1) line in the water at a time per participant.

· No trolling or long lining

START TIME

· Boats must be paid 15 minutes BEFORE the scheduled blast off time if not, you WILLwait until AFTER blast off to be registered. 

LATE PENALITY 

· Any boat will be assessed a 1 pound per minute late penalty. Boats late 15 minutes or more will be disqualified. No exceptions. THIS WILL BE CLOSELY POLICED.

· All anglers are subject to taking and passing a polygraph test. The refusal or failure of said test will result in disqualification with no refund. The failing team or individual will be banned from all future events.

CONDUCT

· All anglers will conduct themselves in a sportsman like and adult manner before/during/after ALL events. NO FIGHTING, EXCESSIVE CURSING, DRINKING, DRUG USES. This behavior will NOT be tolerated! You will be disqualified and banned from current and future events with the loss of all entry and membership fees. 

· In the event any participant/team is found in violation of any rule, law, or regulation the angler/team will be disqualified from the event. Loss of membership, entry fees, forfeiture of event winnings and any other penalty determined by Hooksetters Fishing Club and/or its event directors.

· Protest must be made within 15 minutes after the scales close. 

· The interpretation and enforcement of the rules shall be left to the sole exclusive discretion of Hooksetters Fishing Club and its event directors.  

· All other local and state laws, off limits, and regulations apply even if not otherwise stated above.
